| Introduction | I was born and raised in a small rural community in Wisconsin. I grew up in a lower-middle class family, with a single parent and 3 other siblings. Education, the arts, and sports were the things that distracted me and kept me busy in my small hometown. When classmates were out drinking at bonfires I was at home studying, whether it be music or academics. I decided not to drink at a young age because I was surrounded by it. I prided myself on going against the grain and being different. Education got me away from a place where I didn't feel like I fit in entirely. I went to Green Bay, WI for my Undergraduate Degrees: Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Arts Management. When the end of my Undergrad career was in sight, I still felt like I hadn't learned all that I could. The next step was to get my Masters Degree. So, here I am. I just graduated from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. Who would've thought a girl who grew up poor in a small town could have made it this far? I know everyone who cares about me is very proud, and I thank those who have helped me thus far. Now, I ask you for your support. |
