| Introduction | I am a spiritual seeker and regard Swami Sivananda of the Divine Life Society, Rishikesh as my Guru. The teaching of my Guru is: "Serve, Love, Give, Purify, Meditate, Realise." My main sadhana is a combination of mantra japa and karma yoga (service of humanity as a doctor). 'Vishnupriya' is my spiritual name, given at the time of my mantra initiation by a disciple of Swami Sivananda. I am currently doing a series of mantra purascharanas for spiritual progress and world peace. I have a strong faith, based on my own practical direct experience, that the Name and Mantra of God have a divine power to transform our very being and provide us protection. I also strongly believe in mantra japa as a powerful force for world peace. I grew up in India and moved to Europe in my teens, where I now live and work as a doctor. I am married and firmly believe, as per my Guru, that one can attain true devotion and God realisation regardless of whether one is married or single. My goal in life is to attain true devotion to God or parabhakti in this very lifetime. I respect all religions and spiritual traditions and regard them as many ways of worshipping the one God of the universe. |
