Introduction	I'm a young assistant professor setting up a lab. Largely computational, my research did not produce much waste until I decided I wanted to actually do some experiments. Several hundred thousand dollars later, I had a huge pile of boxes, a bunch of cool looking instruments, and a very earth conscious lab manager. I decided my lab was going to try and be a little more friendly to the earth. After all, the data we decide to analyze does come at a price.
