About me

Introduction Critical race, black feminist, and critical food studies scholar focusing how whiteness and effects of race/racalization/race manifest in vegan food politics in the USA. I am doing my PhD research at UC Davis and am a GSM Fellow for 2009-2010 academic year.
Interests I am interested in incorporating Zen Buddhism in my research because I think it is crucial to approach such sensitive research and activism with compassion, understanding, and non-judgment. Thus far, my engagement with Zen Buddhism has greatly helped me with my communication skills and understanding around anti-racism praxis.

How can I incorporate mindfulness practice into my anti-racism, black feminist, and critical race theory research work? How can awareness around white privilege, white racialized consciousness, and anti-racism be incorporated into mindfulness practice in the USA?
