Introduction	Hi, I’m Oakland Press Outdoor writer Roger Beukema. I’ve been writing for The Oakland Press since 1981. I began covering governmental and school board meetings with some feature writing thrown in. Gradually I assumed more and varied writing responsibilities. Later I was asked to cover outdoors topics and have been doing that ever since. I’m retired from Bloomfield Township Police Department, married with four children and one grandson. Two of our children live and work in Europe. Our daughter Jennifer lives in England and one of sons Matthew lives in Germany.
