Introduction I have been a teacher for 18 years...and I have loved every minute! I especially love to teach Grade 6 - the curriculum is all about Global Citizenship - helping others, making a difference, understanding other cultures and our own, caring about all life and the environment...to me, it's not just for grade 6, it's for life. Along with being a teacher, I am a Mom - I have two amazing grown children, a husband who inspires a lot of my teaching, Buffy, a scruffy big rescue dog, and a big black and white 19 year old cat, Nappy, that I adore. I love animals, reading, gardening, music and traveling - although my favourite part of traveling is always coming home. I've been very fortunate to see many parts of the world - and a few years ago I was thrilled to be a Canadian Teacher Breaking the Ice, traveling with the Canadian Coast Guard through the Northwest Passage in the Arctic. It was the first year the Coast Guard was part of team trying to find Franklin's missing ships - this year they found one of them!! That is a very exciting piece of history for me. This is me softening leather in the Arctic!
