I have a background in financial services and Community Economic Development. I grew up in CT and moved to Appletree Point on Lake Champlain in Burlington, VT in 1971. When I was a child, my parents would pile my three siblings and me into the car and trek north to Vermont each winter weekend to go skiing. I always thought my father was the only crazy one to do this so frequently. It wasn’t until I became an adult that it became apparent that many others now living in Vermont also grew up elsewhere and made similar trips north each winter weekend, typically involving driving a car full of kids a good five to six hours to reach their destination. My family eventually moved to Vermont when I was 13, gravitating to the local values of simplicity and integrity, as well as the focus on family, relationships, and the outdoors. |
