Introduction | otherwise known as the Brown-Shugart House, was built in 1885 by architect and carpenter Julius C Holmes. It was commissioned by Forrest Washington Brown shortly before his marriage to Emma Beverly Tucker. In 1890 the house was greatly expanded to include a formal foyer, five bedrooms, his and hers bathrooms and a ballroom. Today, the house is very well preserved, retaining much of its Victorian/Eastlake details. The house is undergoing a major (albeit slow) restoration. Check out more at www.kevinandcharity.com |
