| Introduction | I'm Andy, corporate I.T. professional turned specialty foods entrepreneur. My blog covers my journey with my business: Good For You LLC. In 2005 I left my job to relocate with my spouse’s business to the DE beaches. What to do now living in a state where chicken houses often outnumber human? Faced with a 4 hour trip to the closest good food store, I opened Good For You Market selling natural/gourmet foods. I did DE proud – winning 3 Best of Delaware awards in the worst economy since the 1930s. After 4 years I decided to leave the full-service ‘grocery’ business & refocus my business on what I do best. The result is the Rehoboth Beach Cheese Company - farmstead/artisan cheeses, specialty foods, & organic produce. I've learned lots since starting out. Who knew staffing was such a steep learning curve? Who knew a competent sales/marketing professional lay inside a computer geek? Systems analysis, database development, data architecture, organic farming, cheese, specialty foods, cooking. What’s common to all? Curiosity! Curiosity begets technique begets better solutions. Why complain about lack of choice if you're not willing to offer an alternative? Participate in life – be curious! |
