Introduction Bill Casey was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia on February 19, 1945. He is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University and holds a Bachelor of Science and Engineering Diploma. Before entering politics Bill Casey owned and operated Bill Casey Pontiac Buick and Bill Casey Ford Mercury with outlets in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick for 18 years. Bill Casey was first elected to the House of Commons in 1988. After the 1993 election he returned to his business career and became a Financial Advisor and Stock Broker with Merrill Lynch, where he operated the Amherst, Nova Scotia office. Casey regained his former seat in the House of Commons in the 1997 election with an 8,000 vote majority. He was appointed Transport Critic and Foreign Affairs Critic for the P.C. Party. Bill Casey was re-elected in 2000 and was appointed critic for Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Later he was appointed Deputy Whip of the Conservative Party of Canada. In June 2004 Mr. Casey was re-elected. He also was sent back to the House of Commons in the January 2006 election. Bill is married to Rosemary. They have three adult children; Michael, Holly and Allison.
