Introduction ABOUT TNABACG: This site was launched in April 2004 as a LiveJournal, assuming that no one would ever read it. It began after a stint as a Minnesota Daily columnist, then muddled through 2.5 years as an occasionally-updated rant-ery. It was only in 2007 that it actually became what it is today: a Minnesota sports blog, covering just about anything you can think of in the state. ABOUT THE ACRONYM: TNABACG stands for "The National Anthem Before a Cubs Game". This is a reference to a Bloom County comic strip, in which one of the characters says, "Just the usual formality before the chaos begins. Like playing the national anthem before a Cubs game." It is a nonsensical title, and should have been dropped years ago. ABOUT JON MARTHALER: Jon is a writer based in the Twin Cities. He's written for the Minneapolis Star Tribune and the Minnesota Daily, and is a regular contributor to RandBall, Twinkie Town, and the T-Wolves Blog - five places that realized too late just what they were getting into.
