You've got to make contact with the alien leader. How will you tell when the conversation is finished?
If I am talking to an alien leader and I DON'T know when the conversation is over, then you can consider me a sad excuse for a representative of the human species. The conversation is over when either 1: he blows my head off with a superlaser, or 2: He is so convinced that I am right that he hands me his crown and the right to rule over his species then and there.
