| Introduction | Originally trained as a human rights Lawyer in his homeland El Salvador. Enrique has live and work in Canada for over thirty years his academic formation has been useful in his role as a community development worker. Enrique has worked as a housing worker providing support to homeless and people described as “hardest to house”, he has managed a shelter for the homeless and worked in many social service organizations. Enrique has over twenty years of experience as an Executive Director of non-profit multiservice organisations. Including the Open Door Centre, Peterborough Social Planning Council and Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre. Enrique was a member of the United Way of Greater Toronto Speakers Bureau, as well of Passages to Canada, Dominion Institute. Enrique has been peer reviewer with the Ontario Trillium Foundation, and the Toronto Urban Health Fund and has presented workshops on Community Development and Non Profit Board Governance, anti racism and anti oppression work. |
| Interests | Since my retirement, I have discovered the placer of writing. Initially my intention was to tell stories about my family and our own immigration from El Salvador to Canada. Then thanks to the writers circle I joined in Peterborough. I discovered I like to write short fictional stories. Since is very unlikely I would ever publish it in a book. This is the medium I am going to published. Welcome to my blog. Desde mi jubilación descubrí el placer de escribir. Inicialmente mi intención era contar historias sobre mi familia y nuestra inmigración de El Salvador a Canadá. Luego, gracias al círculo de escritores al que me uní en Peterborough. Descubrí que me gusta escribir cuentos cortos de ficción. Como es muy poco probable que alguna vez lo publique en un libro. Este es el medio que voy a usar para publicar lo que escribo. |
