| Introduction | In a number of ways, the essence of a city is captured in its restaurants - what you get to eat and how you get to eat it often defines the way a city itself carves its niche in your memory. As I travel all over the country, mostly for quizzes, I take some time out to write about places I eat at, and try to maintain a balance between what is served and how it is served. Most importantly, however, I consider it a privilege to reside in Mumbai, where the various cuisines you get to experience in different parts of the city bear testimony to the city's inherent cosmopolitanism.
