Introduction I've been riding since I was 4, when my dad threw me up on a unbroken pony!! After that I would ride anything I could get my hands on, including donkeys and Gypsy Ponies. At 15 I got Treasure on loan and 2 years later smashed my right leg to smithereens on her. In between 'proper' jobs I worked in a crap riding school, and freelanced. Then I started competition riding eventually buying a horse (Skittles). While working at Poplar Park EC and part time at the local RDA, I acquired the infamous Paddy! I took over the role as Yard Manager at Hollesley RDA in 2000 and I had found my vocation. When I became ill (Dodgy Lungs and Dicky Ticker) in 2010, I was told my time with horses was over. Paddy went out on loan and sadly died of colic. I met Jo in 2014. An amazing lady with a rescued horses that I helped with. I looked for a quiet, been there, done that horse of my own. And so I got Charlie. A 3.5year old, just cut colt, who had been rescued off a meat lorry, and had spent 3 years running free with other colts! A split second away from feral, and partially sighted in his off-side eye, Charlie has been a challenge. This is our story.
