| Introduction | Living on the edge of the world, where I can see Russia from my house is quite the adventure. At times, I feel like I am living on the moon and other times I find myself thinking that I am living at the turn of the 20th century. I love living so removed from modern technologies like cable, cell phones and internet. In order to get to the closest city I have to take two small planes. Flying in a bush plane over the rivers and ponds scattered across western Alaska, always makes me appreciate where I live and how far I have come. I love to sew and qaspeqs are my passion! It is my favorite pastime and I try to sew at least 2 hours a day. I love teaching and most of all I love learning more about the culture and spending time with people who open up and share their life stories with me. I work hard and play equally hard!
