| Introduction | As a MiddleEastern BellyDance lover, Ooi's learnt from Yasmina Ramzy, Serena Ramzy, Asmahan, Tamalyn Dallel & Susan Frankovich. Over 12 yrs of bellydance performing experience in Belgium, The Netherlands, UK, HK & the Mainland etc. Also toured in Europe & UK for Nusantara, a Southeast Asian dance company. Working with members from the Malaysian National Theatre & world-renowned Malay classical & ethnic choreographer Maziah Omar, she's performed at French Cultural Festival, Festival of World Cultures in Dublin, Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Arts & for the London Mayor etc. Her passion in culture also led her to be the Researcher & Presenter for RTHK documentary The Earth’s Song. Other appearances in HK include being Ethel in the musical 42nd Street. She's also the Character Movement artist as Ying-female leading role for HK’s 1st 3D animation DragonBlade. Ooi's currently the Director of Strategy&Planning for OCAT Art-Loft in Shenzhen & owns a branding consultancy Le Aura in HK. At the same time, she's in-charge of the executive planning for Arts Integrated & Cody’s Moving Group. Whilst, she's also a freelance editor, writer, bellydance & jazz instructor & performer. |
