The Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Operating with the support of a small group of paid staff and more than 1,660 dedicated volunteers, the Northern New England Region serves the 3.2 million residents of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. For more than a century, Northern New Englanders have been able to depend on the Red Cross to provide disaster relief and preparedness resources, health and safety training, support for members of the military and a safe and stable blood supply.
