Introduction	My wife Pat and I have been married for over fifty-five years, having raised six adopted children as described in my memoir, "A NEW AMERICAN FAMILY, A Love Story" published by the University of Arizona Press in 2011. As student, faculty or staff member I was committed full-time over a span of 53 years to seven universities: Stanford, MIT, CalTech, UCLA, Columbia, Lehigh, and Arizona. I am now President-Emeritus of the University of Arizona.
