Introduction	Rob Collier is a bass player, music theorist, composer, and popular music scholar based in Milwaukee, WI. Recordings of Rob’s compositions have been released on Geology Records, Capstone Records, Ephem Aural, AuralgamiSounds, Ongoing Box, Noumenal Loom, and Hand Drawn Hand. He has presented at academic conferences on the music of the Beatles, Paul McCartney, the Grateful Dead, Phish, and Peter Gabriel. Rob's articles on the playing styles of various bassists have been published in Bass Musician Magazine. As a bass player, he has performed, toured, and recorded with rock, country, folk, bluegrass, and jazz bands. He currently plays in Deadelijk, a Milwaukee-based Grateful Dead tribute band. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Composition from the University of Maryland, a Master of Music in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Louisville, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Bellarmine University.
