| Introduction | I live right about in the center of Long Island and commute into the city every weekday on the LIRR. This doesn't leave much time for recreation during the week, so the weekends are important times for relaxation and exercise. I was raised on the central coast of California and relocated to New York about ten years ago. I used to live in Brooklyn but moved out to Long Island because that's where I could afford to buy a home. Can't say I love living out there but it does have its advantages. I still love going to the beach when the weather cooperates, although I can no longer compete in the "Whoever has the deepest tan wins" contest. Needless to say, I am an inveterate reader and almost always have a book with me that I am reading, or Newsday or the NY Times or the NY Observer or some of my junk mail catalogues! |
