| Introduction | Born and raised in the Cleveland area, Joan Satow currently resides in Berea, Ohio with her husband and two daughters. Joan is also a full-time Graphic Designer by day. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Visual Communications from Ashland University with an inclusive College Affiliate Program at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Covering a diverse subject matter, her paintings include nature, animals, people, architecture, and abstracts. She captures the beauty, light, and mood of each subject while adding a newness never seen before. Her painting style flows from realistic to impressionistic. She enjoys experimenting with the paint and embraces the "happy accidents" that occur with this challenging medium. Joan has been accepted into several juried Art Shows and Exhbits: Ohio Watercolor Society's Annual Exhibit (2017 and 2019), BayArts Annual Exhibits, Valley Arts Center Annual Exhibits - "Stan and Hope Emerling Watercolor Award" Winner, Hudson Artists Collaborative Annual Outdoor Show - "Art on the Green", Lakewood Arts Festival, Berea Arts Festival and Berea Fine Arts Club Exhibits and Shows.
