| Introduction | [2010] I am rather consumed with reducing my environmental footprint. I cannot justify myself being here on this planet, let alone living in a developed nation. So here I am, being vegetarian, never flying rarely driving, cycling everywhere, getting what I can and need without buying it new (re-using and re-claiming), home cooking from scratch, trying to garden and eat locally. Now it's come to a head, and I'm taking on my biggest challenge yet: living in the woods. I will live a dichotomy, by night a hermit, by day a well respected man researching abstract mathematics. It's practice for a life of two lives, it's living simply and small, it's beautiful. I'll tell you how it goes. |
