IntroductionDenise Hill, Ed.D. has been teaching in the College of Education at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi since Fall 2002. She is in the Teacher Education Department and served as site professor at Schanen Elementary in the Corpus Christi ISD for 10 years. Currently she continues to teach “Instruction Design for Special Populations,” and serves as Chair of the Department of Teacher Education. She previously taught in the Texas Public Schools for nineteen years. Five of those years were spent in Nacogdoches. During those five years, Dr. Hill served on a TEA grant team developing integrated mathematics and science curriculum and teaching practices for the district. Dr. Hill then moved to the Corpus Christi ISD, where she introduced the integrated mathematics & science program to the middle school in which she was teaching. Hill was named the Teacher of the Year for the Corpus Christi Independent School District in 2000-2001. Even more recently, she was awarded the TAMUCC Faculty Teaching Excellence Award in 2008–2009 and the TAMUCC Faculty Service Excellence Award in 2010–2011. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas Science Teachers Association.
