| Introduction | I graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Canada with degrees in Psychology, Human Relations and Family Life Education. I've devoted years to researching the topic of womens' relationships with their fathers and with the significant men in their lives. My book, "Father Effects: How Your Father Influenced Who You Are and Who You Love" was based upon 1000 womens' responses and over 500 personal stories. But my deepest motivation for writing "Father Effects" was because of my own struggles with men, my fear of commitment, the choices that I made and ultimately, my divorce. As a single mother, alone for the first time in my life, I began to search for a meaning. I needed to understand why I couldn't get it right. More then ever, I wanted to change how I viewed men, how I attracted men and break the cycles that I had been repeating for years. In helping myself, I was able to help other women. And, as long as we have fathers, as long as we are making relationship choices, we will always be learning about ourselves and the Father Daughter Effects! |
