IntroductionI re-started this blog because people keep telling me I need to write. I'm 45 and I live in the Midwest. My husband George and I have been married since May 1987; we've been together since September 1981. Our teenage son Alex is a beautiful person who I can always count on to make me laugh. In 1999 I was blessed with a best friend, Susan. Again with the laughing. Alex's friends think I am a Hippie. I am a liberal. I believe that we should take care of Mother Earth. I am pro-choice. I love animals, especially cats, horses and dogs. I enjoy critter-watching in my backyard. My entire life changed due to a kickboxing injury on April 6, 2000. I always wanted to be "The Kool-Aid Mom" (not in a Jonestown sort of way). I'm passionate about conservation, and the four Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle, rethink). I use humor, compassion and intellect on a daily basis. My family is very important to me. I'm a Moonchild (Cancer the Crab) but I have a lot of Leo in my chart. That makes me very sensitive and passionate. One of my favorite things to do is have Alex's friends over for dinner every Monday night. I have a crazy Border Collie named Lucky, and two lovely Tabby cats named Trixie and Rufus.

Favorite musicI love Metal and Classical. My favorite bands include: Coheed & Cambria, System of a Down, anything Alex plays. Dave Matthews Band. I love Beethoven and Wagner and Rachmaninoff. I love Christmas music, especially the traditional kind. I enjoy Celtic music and Hearts of Space on WUIS.
Favorite booksKing of the Wind was my favorite childhood book. Skinny Dip by Carl Hiaasen really made me laugh, especially the part where the guy would go to the nursing home and take the morphine patches off the patients and use them for himself - ok, it's morbid, I know, but since I use the patches I found it rather funny. Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man by Fannie Flagg made me laugh out loud, too. Ahab's Wife by Sena Jeter Naslund. Louanne gave me a book about American women who were given to the Indians as wives - can't remember what it was called but I thought it was good. Travels by Michael Chrichton was interesting. The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown brings up all kinds of great ideas.

Do you believe that forks are evolved from spoons?

No, but I believe Spork Weasels is an AWESOME band name!
