| Introduction | I am a basically a self-taught artist. I can remember doing some when I was a child but was not encouraged even though I won an art contest when I was about 10. I have been doing a class called 'Do your own Thing' at a local art store for over 20 years and learned quiet a bit - from pen & ink, acrylics, watercolor, color pencil and oils. This was a wonderful outlet for me because I gained my self-esteem from it plus gaining many, many friends in the art world. I am going to start doing some shows - I was just accepted for one that will be in July of this year. This will be a new chapter in my life to show and hopefully sell some of my art. I love to do animals, people, anything that makes me happy. I have done some children - having 4 grandsons - I have done 2 of them. I prefer to do my art from pictures which make it easier for me to study them and make sure that I have things in the right perspective. |
