| Introduction | I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. It took a long time for me to realize the impact the abuse had had on my life - loneliness, shame, guilt, embarrassment, failed relationships, feeling unlovable and rejected. Most people brushed aside what I'd been through, wishing I was lower maintenance and not who I really was - someone who'd been neglected & abused by her parents, a person who was completely changed by another person's sin and crime, someone who needed to be rebuilt. I began to heal when I was finally loved unconditionally. With his love and support, I was able to reach out to others who could help me. And my life was turned upside-down again when I discovered that I am not an "orphan" - I have a heavenly father! What life-giving news! Today I lead support groups for women who are recovering from sexual abuse, coordinate classes to prevent abuse, and do a little counseling with survivors. I'm taking the ministry onto the world wide web in an effort to encourage other survivors and their loved ones on their road to recovery. |
