| Introduction | I know the mere fact that I was born in the same city as FB doesn't give me the licence to "step in his shoes". What does, I believe, is the fact that I have met many great Filipinos over the years that I have come to respect and admire - just like FB felt about Jose Rizal (and the whole nation's aspirations in general, which we have also in common). Lastly, I do this for FB's memory which, I am sad to report, is much more alive in the Philippines than in his native land. |
