She has served as a consultant, lending her services and knowledge to numerous public entities such as Upfront/Universal who signed artist Akon. Mays is the former personal manager of such acts as the 69 Boyz, Quad City DJs, 95 South, RAab, Dis-n-Dat and the vocal quartet 11 D Extreme, She was pivotal in the in the platinum success of the Quad City DJ’s debut album and hit singles “C’mon N Ride It (The Train)” and “Space Jam”. The title song off the Space Jam Soundtrack titled “Space Jam” performed by Quad City DJs led to a 1998 Grammy nomination for the best dance song of the year. This multitalented career woman from Virginia is a stage 4 breast cancer survivor, still undergoing treatments. She does not mind talking about the cancer but please don’t pity her. She takes a page from the book of her best friend who passed in May, 2012, “Just keep it Moving.” |
