| Introduction | Drummer/Percussionist, Kiwamu Ogata was born in Fukuoka, Japan. After studying electrical engineering as an undergraduate in Japan, he decided to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied with renowned musicians and fully converted into the field of music. At Berklee, he earned a Berklee Achievement Scholarship and solidified his commitment to becoming a musician by completing his undergraduate study in 2005. In 2008, Kiwamu came to Longy School of Music to develop his musical dexterity, gain knowledge and have exposure to different musical occasions. Under a Longy Scholarship, he joined the Modern American Music program which has both classical and jazz studies. After Longy, he had studied under virtuoso drummer, Damion Reid. 高校よりドラムを始める。福岡大学工学部卒業後、ミュージックエンジニアになるべく渡米。バークリー音楽院へ入学。その後奨学金を獲得。数多くの一流のミュージシャンから学ぶ中で、演奏家として進む道を決意。同大学卒業後、友人の勧めで聴いたコンテンポラリーなジャズに惚れ、その世界へのめり込む。その後、更に知識・技術・感性を身につけるべく、奨学金を授与されロンジー音楽院へ入学。Modern American Music科に入り、ジャズ、クラシックを学ぶ。卒業後は、BostonからNew Yorkへ通いDamion Reid氏に師事する。2010年末に帰国し、間もなく2011年始めに上京。以降、個人レッスン、ライブのサポート、ジャズクラブでの演奏等の活動を始める。 【 経歴 】 ● 福岡大学 工学部電気工学科卒業 ● バークリー音楽大学 プロフェッショナルミュージック科卒業 ● ロンジー音楽大学院 モダンアメリカンミュージック科卒業 |
