| Introduction | We are renting a historic house in Northern New Mexico. There have only been two owners of this house, the original owner, who was a well known painter in this neck of the woods, and the people we are renting from. Many of the plants growing here have been coming up every year since originally planted years ago. We have set out to learn about each herb and plant we find on the property. We think it would be very exciting to be able to utilize all of the things growing in the yard like the original owner must have. Last year we made use of the plum and apricot trees by making jam for the first time and drying the fruit. This year we are taking the next step and learning the medicinal properties of many of the herbs growing on this property. |
