Introduction A one inch refractor, for Christmas 1956, showed stunning views of the Moon - and about this time the USSR launched Sputnik. Hooked! Ive studied the night sky since that time. Mostly, this has been done in the city - and many amazing things can be seen, despite city lights. And this is one motive for the Blog. I enjoy using small 'scopes for this activity too - as they can grab amazing views, at unexpected moments. Enjoy! Awards: ASNSW Mike Kerr Medal for observational astronomy(above); ASNSW McNiven Award; NACAA 2008 Poster Prize-on solar flaring in SC23.
