Introduction Philip Davenport is a poet who co-directs experimental arts organisation arthur+martha with artist Lois Blackburn. His work often appears off the page His poems have been billposted, exhibited in galleries and on objects, recorded onto CDs and broadcast nationally and internationally. Davenport curated at the Text Festival in the UK 2005-14, as well as curating and showing in numerous text/art exhibitions. His small press Apple Pie Editions has published a series of limited edition books, objects, novels, CDs and anthologies (often featuring works by marginalised people, in collaboration with arthur+martha). In 2013 Apple Pie Editions published the large anthology of 'language art' THE DARK WOULD. Edited by Davenport, it includes world-leading practitioners. A major exhibition of contributors to the anthology was curated by Davenport at Summerhall in Edinburgh, 2013-14. Philip played in experimental pop band/art collective The Gingerbread Tree 1980s-90s - a video selection can now be found on YouTube.
