When you've got water stuck in your ear, how do you get it out?

I pour in a bit of rubbing alcohol. This happens almost every day, when I swim laps. My left ear canal is weird. I can't stand the feeling and sound of water sloshing around in my head so I pour in the rubbing alcohol as soon as possible. It brings sweet relief!
