| Introduction | Growing up in both Chicago and San Luis Obispo, I had the best of both worlds. My travels have already led me to UCLA, receiving my undergraduate degree in Political Science. I then ventured forth to New York where I received a Masters of Science in Teaching. For two years, I also taught 5th grade in Harlem as a Teach For America corps member. I then "consulted" for 41 middle school and high school teachers in the South Bronx as a program director for Teach For America. I am now taking my experience and moving to Kenya, trying to effect change in the international educational realm. More than anything, however, I am hoping to learn from the people around me, gaining a better understanding of the world in which we live. |

I'll tell you what I didn't forget to pack - some of that freeze dried astronaut ice cream. Yum.
