| Introduction | If you were to peek in my closet, you'd find about 80 million pairs of shoes and Dungaree Dolly handbags, way too much Urban Decay and a cherry print dress for every day of the week. One of my earliest memories involves wrecking my mother's white porcelain sink by coloring my blond hair with Kool-Aid. (Admit it-you tried that, too.) I've always been attracted to bright looks that toe the line between garish and fabulous and pieces that push the boundaries of good taste. (Zombiegirl cameos, anybody?) BlueVelvetHeart designs reflect deep love and respect for the punk and burlesque scenes, as well as the influences of some of my favorite artists, not the least of whom are Joel-Peter Witkin, Cindy Sherman, David Lynch and Alexander McQueen. |
| Interests | Designing and creating pretty things, my son, my cat, shoes |
| Favorite movies | Casablanca, Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, Showgirls, Pink Flamingos, Citizen Kane, Mean Girls, Empire Records and cannibal Holocaust |
| Favorite music | I know everybody says this but honestly, a little bit of everything. I am, however, passionate about punk, emo and hardcore. |
| Favorite books | New York Trilogy, The Bell Jar, The Catcher in the Rye, The Almost Moon, The Awakening and Animal Farm. The book that defines me is Vonnegut's "Bluebeard". |
Your people want to make a statue in your honor. What will it be made out of and what victory will it commemorate?
"My people"? Who exactly are "my people"? I imagine it is inevitable to erect a monument commemorating the day I finally punch the person who keeps cutting the line at Six Flags when I'm trying to get first car on one of the rides.
