Introduction I've been in Tuscany for four years now. I live in a little village about 4k from Stia. Believe it of not, I'm still making the adjustment. It's not all that easy after the 'honeymoon" is over...and I'm not talking about living with Piero! Really living here and getting used to the culture, the people, the language doesn't happen 1,2,3. It has taken more time than I thought. Living in this isolated little spot has been a challenge from time to time but I'm enjoying the gorgeous night sky, the magnificent summer tomatoes and the spectacle of the sheep running wild down the road in front of our house. It's also a thrill to be able to hop a bus and be in Florence in 90 minutes..to know that some of the most treasured art in the world is so close. I live in one of the most beautiful places on earth and I think my heart would ache for the rest of my life if I left here.
Favorite Movies "No Way Out", "The Oscar", (terrible, but fun), "The Hustler", "Il Postino", "Cinema Paradiso", 'The Godfather, "Divorce Italian Style", "From Here To Eternity"..the list goes on...
Favorite Music Bach, Beethoven, Brahms... Samba, Opera, Sinatra, Clooney, Classical Guitar. I danced flamenco for a few years a loved it. was I Spanish in another lifetime?
Favorite Books I'll read almost anything. I've gone back to read books I didn't have the sophistication to appreciate in college. I recently read Sophie's Choice for the first time and was positively riveted by Styron's writing. I love a good novel as much as a good pizza! And I have a good time reading "fluff" from time to time as well. Oh, and ANYTHING about food is usually on the night table, too.
