Introduction	....a fifth generation South African is at home in the Cascade Mountains of the Pacific Northwest, U.S.A., an area colonized after the last ice age by salmon and conifer forests. Cyberspace and his annual "serv-fari" trips home keep him engaged with the Eastern Cape, South Africa, (an area colonized by Nguni peoples with their herds of Nguni cattle centuries ago). At both places, as a matter of Christian faith, he remains active in the unfolding drama of a common earth by exploring links between the Christian liturgical seasons and the seasons of creation. In addition to serving as the pastor of Community United Methodist Church in Leavenworth, Washington, he serves as the cyber-chaplain of Gqunube Green ecovillage.
