| Introduction | John Williams is a journalist who has worked as a freelance since leaving the Daily Telegraph.He previously worked on the Congleton Chronicle, Alderley, Wilmslow and Knutsford Advertiser, Evening Sentinel and Manchester Evening News. The title of his blog takes its name from the local woods in Goostrey known as the Bongs. In 1981 he launched with a friend and colleague, Frank Dixon, and their wives, Town and Country Post, a free rural monthly newspaper.
