| Introduction | Imagine a little fuzzy headed girl standing in a pair of shiny black shoes. Her socks have lace around the edges, the kind that happens to match the fringes of her polka dotted dress. Her eyes close and tighten into squints that bring her lips into a grin. Her head tips back while her arms reach out and levitate at right angles from her torso. She begins to twirl. Her feet dance the circle round and round again on the pavement. The wind picks up under her dress. She can feel the fabric rising from around her shins and calves. She loves it. She believes herself to be flying. That little girl is me! I love life! And I live it the only way I know how, with my eyes closed and my arms out in faith. |
