| Introduction | My name is Phineas Upham. I studied philosophy under Robert Nozick at Harvard University. My research in philosophy spawned two essays: “Is Economic Scientific? Is Science Scientific?” and “Freedom for the Future: The Independent Value of Freedom in Light of Uncertainty.” After graduating I continued my education at graduate school where he researched innovation. I completed my dissertation and wrote three essays inspired by my research, one of which is called “Citation Structure of an Emerging Research Area on the Verge of Application.” I have lived in New York, Philadelphia, Toronto, Boston, and San Francisco. I have worked as a journalist for several national publications, and is currently working as an investor at a family office and hedge fund. |
