| Introduction | I grew up in the Oratia Valley, a rural fruit-growing district on the road to the West Coast beaches of Auckland, New Zealand, and spent my childhood in the family orchard, working, playing and dreaming. In spring, masses of white blossoms stretched over the hills and my favourite escape was to curl up with a book under one of the apple trees. Today I live in the city of Gold Coast, where I write stories for children and take delight in illustrating the characters of my picture books. I hope to inspire the dreams of children everywhere. |
