| Introduction | I am a California farmer, naturalist teacher and writer. I currently serve as the Five Keys Schools and Programs Farm Operations and Cultural Center Manager. I am the author of two books and am always writing a new one. I have more than 25 years of experience in ecological horticulture and land-based education. For the past 15 years I have taken a hands-on role in various market-scale farm operations by growing and selling culinary herbs, citrus, vegetables, flowers and other specialty crops. I have owned several small businesses with my wife including the Wild Bunch Flower Co. which we operate on our small ranch in Norco, California. I currently serve on CDFA Small-Scale Producers Advisory Committee and on the boards of the Inland Empire Food Systems Alliance, Norco Area Chamber of Commerce and Naturalist For You.. I am a scholar of the relationship between nature and culture and believe deeply in the power of putting ones hands in soil. I write about all of this here! |
