| Introduction | This blog is fiction. While I hope there is truth here, this is not a true story. Depending on how and how long you have known me, you will recognize some things but that is to be expected, right? The seeds of this story arrived on my doorstep in October of 2010 in time for the first meeting of my awesome writing group. It has been making regular appearances ever since. It is not finished. If you follow this blog, you will get to watch it unfold with me. I was watching Brene Brown talk about how vulnerability is the birthplace of creativity at the exact instant I was needing creativity. The next instant I had the thought that having a blog where I posted elements of a story that has been haunting me for years would be the most vulnerable, terrifying thing I could possibly do. So here it is. This first post is what I call the opening number, like a musical. It is long. Most posts will probably not be anywhere near as long as this one. And with that ... here we go! |
