Interests I love reading. I love the adventure of opening a new book and traveling into the world of someone's imagination.
Favorite Movies 2008: SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, for writing, production, and music. MILK for Sean Penn as I've never seen him before, MISS PETTIGREW LIVES FOR A DAY for acting, set and costume design, and the perfection of each scene, WANTED for its vertiginous camera work.
Favorite Books MADAME BOVARIE, because it's about a small-town girl, stuck in a bad marriage, who dreams of more. Unfortunately she dies at the end. HOUSE OF MIRTH by Edith Wharton, THREE JUNES by Julia Glass, THE DEAL by Peter Lefcourt.

Why don't you ever wear a scarf? It doesn't need to be cold outside for your neck to feel naked.

I love scarves; they're so dramatic. I throw them around my neck at the slightest provocation. I think writers should always be swathed in beautiful silk, because most of us can't afford to be swathed in diamonds.
