| Introduction | Recti is a non-de-guerre. The writer has been barking at the Establishment's heels for decades as a blog poster. Most of his attention is drawn to the self-labelled Left and self-declared Progressives, but no one is immune. His special beats are education, human rights, and high culture: theatre, film, fiction, and poetry, with a smattering of the plastc arts. Recti looks for scientific enquiry before opinion, and claims to yearn for what has been diminished in the past 2 decades: intellectual curiosity, candor, epistemological rigor, pluralism, in other words, classical values. The Identity Industry (race-class-gender-orientation) is a particular bête noire, coming in for close scrutiny. Recti was banned for life from the website of the National Post, for being one degree too candid about hockey lesbianism (Women's National Team, their beer-swilling, cigar-chomping victory dance; that Joe-Palooka coach). Yet perhaps it is that only hockey, sacred, is beyond mockery. Feel free to express your pleasure or displeasure with Recti any way you wish. Just don't threaten anything illegal or actionable at The Hague. |
