| Introduction | When I was a child, my dad cautioned me that vinyl scratched if you so much as looked at it and assured me that cassette tapes were the only reliable format. Shortly afterwards I came home with a 7" single of The Sweet's 'Love Is Like Oxygen' to find my dad attempting to wind a chewed tape back into its cassette with a hexagonal HB pencil. I still have the single in my collection. And yes, I did buy tapes and I have far too many CDs, but nothing gives me the same warm fuzzy feeling as a slab of vinyl. |
