| Introduction | I am The Driven Mom. Sometimes purpose driven, sometimes driven crazy- but ALWAYS Mom. I am a trained musician and my principle instrument is voice. I taught elementary music in Texas before our move to Berlin, Germany in 2009. I love to craft, bake, sew, paint,cook, read,help others, and spend as much time as I can having fun with my husband and our two beautiful girls! Within this last year(2011) I purchased a Janome sewing/embroidery machine- LOVE it! |
| Interests | I love baking, cooking, sewing, crochet, crafting, decorating, reading Dan Brown and Brandon Sanderson novels- or anything exciting and interesting. I love history, italian food, chickenfried steak and mashed potatoes, and making my baby laugh. |
| Favorite movies | I love action movies and thrillers, but I hate excess of blood, guts, violence, and do not like sex scenes- so , yeah, the selection in that catigorie is slim pickins for my tastes. I also love romantic comedies and Jane Austen books gone movie. And don't forget the oldies like John Wayne- where would we be without John Wayne. And last but not least is my sectret love of sci.fi., which makes my husband happy, since I like to watch it with him :) I guess I grew up watching and liking what my daddy liked ;) |
| Favorite music | I love big band and 1930's-'40's music, you know the stuff that Michel Buble is bringing back again. After that, I like a lot of different things from classical opera and instrumental to rock and jazz and RMB- I just don't listen to crap. Nothing vulgar, lame, or desenitizing. Not only does it keep me feeling better and cleaner, but it helps me to practice being a good example to my own kids one day. Parents complain that there is no way to avoid a lot of the dirtiness in the world, and I know from personal experience that it can be difficult, but I think that most of the time it isn't avoided because of lack of trying. It is possible, I do it everyday. Sure sometimes things pop up here and there that I don't have control of, but I strive to make sure that I don't put myself in positions where that is more likely to happen. |
