About me

Gender Female
Location Pflugerville, Texas, United States
Introduction I am originally from Godfrey, Illinois - a little town on the bluffs of the Mississippi that is a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. I have a degree in Forestry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and have had a multitude of jobs in a mulititude of professions, most of which had little to do with forestry - very disheartening! About seven years ago I moved to Texas to work as a seasonal field assistant for a study of endangered birds (my avatar shows me and a blue-grey gnatcatcher we caught during this time - he was so tiny and sassy!) Birds, birdwatching, and all aspects of the natural world are passions of mine. This interest, along with my fascination with fashion, design, and all creative endeavors, has inspired me to create quirky and retro-inspired jewelry creations available at www.bowerbirddesign.etsy.com. I am also particularly interested in 1960s culture, music, fashion, etc. I currently live just outside of Austin, Texas, with my husband, three cats, and two dogs.
Interests Jewelry-making; crocheting; crafting; drawing; nature photography; bird-watching; hiking; camping; gardening; cultivating unusual cacti, carnivorous plants, and scented geraniums; 1960s fashion and culture; collecting 1960s pottery and glass; quantum physics; astrology; the paranormal; the natural world in general - so much to learn and so little time!

If mud is dirt plus water, what is clay?

Clay is a form of soil. Mud is a liquid or semi-liquid mixture of water and some combination of silt, soil, or clay.
